Trey Songz arrested on suspicion of domestic violence

Singer Trey Songz was arrested in Los Angeles Monday on suspicion of felony domestic violence after a woman claimed he choked and punched her last month.
The R&B star, whose real name is Tremaine Neverson, surrendered to LAPD at a station in Hollywood with his lawyer Shawn Holley, sources confirmed to the Daily News.
The alleged victim Andrea Buera, 27, has stated Neverson violently attacked her in a jealous rage during an after-party at his rental home during the NBA All-Star weekend.
Buera gave her account of the attack at a press conference with her lawyer Lisa Bloom last week.
She said Neverson choked and punched her — and knocked her to the ground — because they previously dated and he didn’t like the fact she was speaking with one of his friends. “While I was on the ground, he continued punching me and he did not stop until his security pulled him off of me,” Buera said. “People stood and watched, and some scurried away,” she said. “When I called an Uber, he threw my phones over a cliff.”
Buera said she was terrified and suffered a concussion that led to migraines and vomiting.
Two weeks ago, a Los Angeles judge ordered Trey Songz to stay at least 100 yards away from Buera and not attempt to contact her.
He took to Twitter on Monday morning to defend his innocence.
“For weeks my lawyers & Mgmt have asked me not to comment on this and I initially agreed but this morning I feel that my fam, the women that raised me, my friends & fans especially the youth need to hear from me. I am being lied on and falsely accused for someone’s personal gain,” he wrote.
“I won’t be speaking too much more on this but would like to thank you for all the prayers and support.”
