On Monday June 21st , voting for The Wave’s People’s Monarch officially began…

Organized by the Management and Staff of The Wave St. Lucia’s Rhythm and Soul. The winner in 2008 was Herb Black and in 2009 Q Pid. We ask you St. Lucia….Who will be your monarch in 2010?

The event aims to coincide with St. Lucia’s carnival, as we continue to contribute to the carnival fever here in Saint Lucia which now goes beyond their carnival programming and our popular Carnival Friday fete “Outrageous.” Sexy in Black.

Once again, the People’s Monarch is being sponsored by L.I.M.E with additional support from Blue Waters, Piton Beer, Lucozade, Price Waterhouse Coopers, Perfect Time, Jewelers Warehouse and Duty Free Caribbean.

The outcome of the People’s Monarch as the name suggest, will be determined by the pubic who will be allowed to vote by sending a text message with the name of the artiste and song to 9283. Each text cost 50cents. St. Lucians can vote as many times as possible. Additionally entry forms will be available in the Star Newspaper and these can be dropped off at the Wave, Vide Bouteille.

The eight song/artiste combos with the most votes will qualify for the quarter finals stages and a draw will be made to determine the quarter finals to be announced June 30th, semi finals will follow July 14th and finals July 21st .

The winner of the People’s Monarch will receive EC$10,000 cash a cell phone and I year top up from LIME. Second prize; a cell phone and 6 months top-up from Lime and a his/her watch set from Perfect Time. Third prize- a cell phone and 6 months top up from LIME, Jewelry piece from Jewelers Warehouse and his/her fragrance from Duty Free Caribbean.

Quite apart from the People’s Monarch being selected, the public can also win some fantastic prizes from the sponsors, just for voting and participating for what is expected to be another exciting event.
